Update on Injured Hopewell Vikings Star Kingston Krotec
Hopewell Sports Nation wanted to provide a health update on an athlete in our district that’s working to get back on the playing field.
Nearly 3 months ago, Hopewell junior Kingston Krotec unfortunately suffered a broken ankle while preparing for the start of the 2024 high school football season.
Krotec was a returning two-year starting quarterback for Hopewell and was expected to play a large role both offensively and defensively for the Vikings. It was a big blow to Hopewell as his on-field presence would’ve no doubt helped Coach Matt Mottes team, which missed qualifying for the playoffs by just one game.
With the fall sports season over with and the winter season soon to begin, HSN wanted to get an update on how Krotec is progressing in his rehab.
Krotec tells me that he started physical therapy last week and that they’re trying to get his ankle stretched out and back to normal. Once that is able to happen, Krotec will begin the process of trying to strengthen his leg, which hasn’t had any physical activity for month.
Once all of that happens, which is the key, Krotec will start some minor baseball activities such as throwing a baseball.
Krotec, along with staff ace David Medich, will be the two big arms for the Hopewell 2024 High School baseball team.
Workouts for the Hopewell High School baseball team officially get underway on January 2nd, with the first game taking place on March 14th.
