Hopewell Basketball
Hopewell Boys Basketball Fall to Mohawk, 79-53
The early part of the season for any team in any sport is about learning your roster and its strengths and weaknesses.
This is certainly the case with the Hopewell Vikings Boys basketball team.
The good thing about the early schedule is that it’s comprised of non-conference games, so it gives teams a chance to work on things and figure out a rotation before section games begin.
Hopewell no doubt has talent and a lot of players that can contribute, they’re now in the process of how to make it work and be successful.
One thing continues to be a work in progress for Hopewell is their defense which was a problem in their most recent game against Mohawk, who really pushed the play, and the Vikings struggled to get back.
This was a challenge because Mohawk is a talented team and Hopewell decided to test themselves in order to get a gauge for where they were.
Despite the 79-53 loss, the Hopewell coaching staff was able to get plenty of players who haven’t got a ton of minutes and were able to see what they can do.
Hopewell’s record now stands at 2-2 and will return to action on Monday for their home opener against Ellwood City.
