⚡ Vikings Deliver All-Around Performance in Win Over Beaver, Santamaria Goes Deep Early 🔥
🔥 Vikings have Statement Win Over Beaver – Madison Santamaria goes yard💥
The Hopewell Junior High Vikings offense was firing on all cylinders Thursday, and Madison Santamaria was right at the center of it all.
Santamaria delivered a monster performance, driving in four runs on three hits to lead the Vikings to a commanding 15-6 victory over Beaver. Her day was highlighted by a first-inning blast to left field that immediately set the tone, along with clutch RBI singles later in the game to keep the pressure on.
Hopewell wasted no time getting going. In the bottom of the first, Alyssa Phillips sparked the offense with an RBI single before Santamaria launched her two-run homer, giving the Vikings early control and energy that carried throughout the game.
After Beaver battled back to tie things up in the third, Hopewell responded like a team that wasn’t going to be denied. Santamaria came through again with an RBI single, and the Vikings capitalized on disciplined at-bats and aggressive baserunning to reclaim the lead.
Then came the knockout punch.
The Vikings erupted for six runs in the sixth inning, showcasing their depth from top to bottom. Santamaria added another RBI knock, Brooke Otto came through with a big two-run double, and the team took advantage of opportunities across the board—including heads-up baserunning and patience at the plate—to break the game wide open.
At the plate, Hopewell was relentless, racking up 14 hits and drawing seven walks. Santamaria and Alyssa Phillips each collected three hits, while Rilynn Davis added two of her own. Adelynn Grzybowski set the tone with patience, reaching base three times via walks as the lineup consistently applied pressure.
In the circle, Sophia Cronin earned the win with a solid outing, allowing just two earned runs over three innings while keeping Beaver in check. Phillips came on to secure the save, closing things out and locking down the Vikings’ strong team victory.
Beaver showed fight throughout, but Hopewell’s combination of timely hitting, disciplined approaches, and clutch performances proved to be the difference.
The Vikings now turn their attention to a matchup with West Allegheny on Monday, looking to carry this momentum forward.
