Hopewell CP AJ’s Pack-a-Ship with The Eye-Black Attack!

Coach Winiarski shared his thoughts with Hopewell Sports Nation following the first few games of the Coach Pitch season. While the wins are nice, he emphasized that the real victories come from the effort these young players are putting in at practice. Their hard work is already paying off with some fun and memorable moments—and there’s plenty more to look forward to as the season unfolds.
Coaches: Andrew Winiarski, Jon Eiler, Rob Orie, Josh Magnone, and Craig Biller.
“The thing I am most proud of is that in both of these games, every single player has at least 1 hit, 1 rbi, and 1 run in each game!
The kids are sure the eye black is giving them their power, but all of the coaches have seen them put in the extra effort. Hitting practice late on a Friday night, Sunday practice, outdoor practice when it was 36 degrees. They’ve showed up and earned the success with practice, but I will let them keep believing its eye black!
Kids like Cam Winiarski, Coleson Orie, Colton Eiler, and Levi Magnone have been leaders with their play, but are growing as vocal leaders on the field as well. When they are forced into the outfield when we are winning big, they are calling out plays and outs to let the younger infield make sure they know what to do with the ball. It’s fun seeing the 5, 6, and 7-year-olds develop as infielders, learning from their veteran leadership.”
“I’m proud they are doing well on the field, but to see each kid grow as a person, friend, leader, and teammate is the best part.”
HSN wishes all of the youth recreation teams good luck this season, we will be sure to check back in with Coach Winiarski!
