Hopewell Varsity Softball Battled Against Elwood City
The Hopewell Varsity Softball team maintained high energy and a positive attitude throughout their matchup against Elwood City, despite falling short in the final score.
Offensively, the team faced challenges at the plate, managing just three hits during the game. Those came from Victoria Mann, Allison Ramaley, and Dakota Roche. The lineup worked hard to adjust, as the strike zone called for a bit of flexibility at the plate but taught the team the importance of being aggressive in their st bats.
On the mound, Allison Ramaley delivered a strong starting performance, keeping the team competitive, while Alana Covalt came in to provide solid relief and steady support from the bullpen. The pair combined for four strike outs and a pitch to strike ratio at 58%.
Though the result wasn’t in their favor, Hopewell’s grit and team spirit were on full display, laying the groundwork for future success as the season continues. Its clear that Hopewell is in the hunt for another shot at lost season play.
Next up is a very important section game for Hopewell. Hopewell sits in third in the Section behind Mohawk and Avonworth. After dropping a matchup to each of the two section leaders this game will be pivotal in setting the stage for the playoffs. Hopewell will take on Avonworth at home on Tuesday after the long Easter Weekend!
