Coach Daley – Offseason Workouts from Varsity to Junior High

Saturday- 2/22- Hopewell High School Field House is an Offseason Home for 7th-12th Graders!
The quote by Vince Lombardi, ‘fatigue makes cowards of all’, reminds me why off-season conditioning is so important for any athletic activity. Strength becomes essential to outlast and overcome your opponent, and it occurs now, not when the season starts.
Every Saturday morning, starting at 800 AM and ending approximately at 915 AM, Strength Coach Jason Daley mentors Hopewell student athletes in strength and conditioning sessions.
Coach Daley is well versed in weight lifting techniques. Back in the day, Coach Daley was a premiere power lifter and has worked with Robert Morris University in their strength and conditioning programs.
This morning in the Field House, there was a mix between the girls basketball team and boys baseball team. The teams gather together with Coach Daley to review the workout assignments and then go to work. The exercises range from bench press, squats, deadlifts to bicep curls, and farmer’s walk.
Coach Daley emphasizes form and precision in each lift to prevent injury and maximize strength potential.
When coming into the Field House, you can see the excitement between the athletes as they cheer each other in achieving personal goals.
To be honest, one of the most impressive as well as inspiring activities on Saturday mornings is the end-of-session talks. Each talk emphasizes teamwork, leadership, dedication to their sport, and overall good student citizenship.
Coach Daley has the Field House open to all Hopewell athletes on Saturday mornings. Be ready to come to the Field House to work and be coached to reach your maximum potential!
