Sembower Clinches WPIBL Regionals- HW Girls Bowling!

In a press release last night by the Hopewell Varsity coaching staff they announced exciting news regarding the post season for Hopewell Varsity bowling!
The Hopewell Lady Vikings sent one representative to compete in the Women’s WPIBL Championships on Thursday at AMF Mt. Lebanon lanes.
The tournament featured the top 80 female bowlers from the WPIBL this year with averages ranging from 210 pins per game to 130 pins per game. In order to qualify for this event, bowlers had to appear in a minimum of 21 varsity games and maintain a minimum average of 130. The top 40 finishers in the event earned their chance to compete in the PA Western Regional Finals next week at AMF Noble Manor Lanes.
For the second straight year, sophomore Annabeth Sembower has earned her place in the Regional Finals!
Last year, “AB” finished 49th out of 59 women with a 406 series – missing the cut by 19 pins. She was able to qualify for the Western Regionals based on her season long average. This year, she left no doubt shooting a 468 and finishing 32nd overall in the tournament – 21 pins clear of the cut line.
Sembower bowled over the pace all day and was within the top 40 after each of the 3 games. She finished 32nd overall and 7th among all sophomores.
She has earned the right to compete next week in the PA Western Regional Finals for the opportunity to advance to the PA State Finals in what will be a busy weekend for the Vikings. She will be joined by senior Daniel Earley who will also compete on Friday in the men’s Regional Finals. The Lady Vikings will compete in the Team Regional Finals on Saturday and the men’s team will compete in the Team Regional Finals on Sunday.
