Hopewell’s Jacob Brunton to Continue Football Career at Westminster
Another Hopewell athlete will be continuing their athletic career beyond high school.
Hopewell senior running back Jacob Brunton has made a verbal commitment to attend Westminster College. Back in August, Westminster was the first college to extend a scholarship offer to Brunton.
“I am beyond blessed to be able to continue the next four years of my life at Westminster,” says Brunton. “I’d like to thank all the coaches in the recruiting process for giving me a chance to continue to play the sport I love. This has been a crazy 12 years, and I never would’ve thought that college football was in the future. Thank you to everyone who has believed in me and been with me for this ride. Thank you to my parents for opening up doors and giving me opportunities to better myself. Most importantly, I’d like to thank God because without the strength and blessing from him, life isn’t possible.”
Brunton was the workhorse of the Vikings offense this past season as he returned 100% from a knee injury suffered during his junior year. His best performance of the season was in Week 2 as he rushed for 209 yards and 3 touchdowns against New Brighton.
Here’s my film from Friday. 56-13 win over New Brighton!

Brunton is a perfect example of what hard work and a desire to get better can accomplish.
Hopewell Sports Nation wants to congratulate Hopewell running back Jacob Brunton for a huge accomplishment.
