Hopewell Junior High Basketball
Great Start for the Hopewell Girls Junior High Basketball Team!!
Believe it or not, basketball season is here and on Wednesday, the Hopewell Girls Junior High team got their season going.
The 7th and 8th graders here at home hosting the Fort Cherry Rangers and things got off to a great start.
HOPEWELL 7TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL:
Behind a 14-point effort from Amiyah Shell, the Lady Vikings defeated Fort Cherry, 35-16.
Hopewell got off to a strong start, leading 17-7 at the half and went on to score 18 points in the second half.
Other top performers for the Lady Vikings were Elianna McCoy with 8 points and 7 rebounds, Afton Budris with 6 points, Leah Buettner (2 points), Dallas Boyd (2 points), Sam Holsinger (2 points) and Arionna Shell (1 point).
Next up for the 7th grade team is a matchup against Montour.
HOPEWELL 8TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL:
Next up were the 8th graders, who also picked up their first victory of the season as they led start to finish on their way to a 48-21 win.
Hopewell started the game on a 11-1 run before leading 18-5 at halftime.
Taking a look at the Vikings scoresheet, Calasia Cannon led the way with 18 points!! Lilly Enders was tremendous with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 3 block shots.
Ava Ray also chipped in 11 points, Lillian Otto (5 points), Abby Babinsack (2 points) and Sam Holsinger (1 point).
Next up for the 8th grade team will be the Montour Spartans.
