Hopewell Girls Junior High Basketball Loses Close Contest Against Brentwood

Published

on

The Hopewell Girls Junior High basketball team made the bus ride to take on Brentwood.

Normally there are separate 7th and 8th grade games, but Brentwood only had 1 team, so the two teams played a combined game between 7th and 8th graders.

It was a close game for all four quarters but in the end, Brentwood came away with a 36-33 win over Hopewell.

For the second straight game, Calasia Cannon, who’s had an outstanding 8th grade season, led Hopewell in scoring with 11 points.

Hopewell got off to a slow start trailing 11-4 but then went on a 13-0 run to take a 17-11 lead and eventually led at halftime by the score of 19-14.

Taking a look at the Hopewell Box Score:
-Calasia Cannon- 11 points, 6 blocked shots.
-Lily Enders- 10 points, 6 rebounds
 -Ava Ray- 4 points
 -Arionna Shell- 2 points
 -Brooke Otto- 2 points
 -Ellie McCoy- 2 points
 -Amiyah Shell- 1 point
 -Dallas Boyd- 1 point

Hopewell will wrap up their 2024 season on Tuesday as they travel to take on the Moon Tigers.
