Hopewell Girls Soccer Team Season Ends With Emotional Night
BEAVER- To say it was an emotional night for the Hopewell Girls soccer team would be a huge understatement.
It would also be fair to say that the feelings and emotions that the players and coaches on this team have felt over the past 72 hours were something that no one should have to feel yet alone deal with, especially for these teenagers.
Unfortunately life isn’t always fair and that’s something we’ve painfully learned this week.
The Lady Vikings had one more match on the schedule and as a team, although they very well knew that it would be emotionally impossible to play, they made the decision to finish the 2024 season by taking on Beaver.
The final score of tonight’s match is inconsequential. This group of girls are winners for staring an impossible couple of hours in the face, dealing with life and a moment of their young lives that they’ll never forget.
Pat Tarquinio Field was filled with two teams and two communities that came together as one to remember and recognize a special person, who left this earth way too early.
Much credit to the Beaver girls soccer program and community in general for the way they handled things tonight and the true compassion they displayed and showed towards Hopewell.
HSN wanted to recognize the group of seniors that played their last soccer match as a Hopewell Viking.

Thank you for the hard work and dedication you’ve given to the soccer program over the last four years. Wins and losses aside, you’re winners and made this program and district proud.
Good luck in the next chapter of your lives and there’s no doubt you’re headed for success!
Although it’s hard to comprehend this now, remember that life isn’t meant to be easy, it’s meant to be lived. Sometimes happy, sometimes rough. But every up and down you learn lessons that make you strong.
