The Hopewell Vikings football team is in a position that they haven’t found themselves in too often over the last decade.
Hopewell are clear favorites heading into a game.
Coach Mottes and his team take on a winless McGuffey team (0-6), while Hopewell will look to improve their record to 4-3.
A win tonight would be the most for Hopewell since 2017.
The question is how will the team react entering a game that they’re expected to win?
On paper, tonight’s opponent has definitely struggled. McGuffey has been out scored in their last 4 games, 172-0. In their 6 games, they’ve scored just 13 total points.
It should be pointed out that their last 4 opponents have been Beaver, North Catholic, Central Valley and West Allegheny; all high quality teams.
That being said, Hopewell should leave this game with a win.
Speaking of quality teams, when you look at Hopewell’s 3 losses this season, they’ve come against 3 really good teams.

Although it’s a road contest, Hopewell is the better team and should win.
This is a game where I look for Hopewell’s defense can continue to gain momentum. The defensive line turned in their best performance of the season last week against Quaker Valley and they’ll have a chance to continue that tonight.
Offensively, I think it’s important for the passing game to get some confidence and production. The running game has been fairly consistent all season but to have success at the end of the season, they’ll need to be able to move the ball through the air too.
Tonight is a chance for them to work on it.
The winning will continue tonight!
