HSN caught up with Hopewell head coach Terry Borkovic to get his thoughts on the tournament.
“It was just one of those days where things just didn’t go as well as expected,” said Borkovic. “We looked sluggish at times and seemed to lack our usual energy. We have competed in three tournaments the last three weeks and tournaments can be challenging both physically and mentally. We also have a few starters that are playing through some nagging injuries. No excuses though.”
“There were some positive moments. The match against Quaker Valley was very exciting. The playoff win versus West Allegheny was encouraging. Plus, senior middle blocker Alyssa Spang was selected to the MAC All-Tournament team.”
The Lady Vikings are in action twice this week: on Tuesday they travel to Freedom, while on Friday they’re on the road at Aliquippa.
