Twerps head coach Jeremy Boehm recapped the game, “it was a rough and disjointed game, the boys made a great effort, we have some adjustments to make for the next game.”

Hopewell took on Blackhawks offense to start the game and Kaycion Hudgins sticks a big hit to the running back, Lincoln Bokor makes a big play in the back field to stuff the run and take over on downs.

Lincoln Bokor carried for three yards on the opening play, but the run  from Lincoln was nullified by a holding penalty and a run for a touchdown was also nullified by another penalty so the score still remained 0-0. On second down, incomplete pass was Hopewell didn’t convert on this possession.

Blackhawk on their next possession came up big, first down the run is stuffed at the line by Lincoln Bokor, followed by a big run by Blackhawk for a first down on the 21 yard line originally starting at the 37 for a gain of sixteen. Another run by Blackhawk through the middle of the Hopewell defense went for a touchdown and the point after was good.

Hopewell came back strong on their next drive with a handoff to Lincoln Bokor for the touchdown on first play of the drive but the point after was no good.

At the end of the first quarter the score is Blackhawk 7 and Hopewell 6.

After a couple of possessions back and forth Blackhawk pulled ahead with a couple of good runs and a touchdown. With only moments left in the second Blackhawk leads 14-6.

After a bolt of lightning play was suspended and the fields and stands were cleared for 30 minutes and the teams returned from the delay just in time for Blackhawk to have one possession and score right before more lighting and another game delay.

Hopewell goes down 20-6 near the end of the 3rd.

Unfortunately, Hopewell wouldn’t get many more chances to score as the weather continued to get worse and more lighting delays forced an abrupt end to the game with final score of 20-7 Blackhawk. A seemingly 2 hour game for a bunch or 6-7 year olds turned into a 4 hour event. The boys remained poised in light of all the delays and have plenty of things to bring to their next practice.

The twerps next game is an away game against New Brighton, at 3pm, GO VIKINGS!

Hello Hopewell! While I am not originally a Hopewell native, it has been my home for over 12 years. My wife and I have three beautiful children that all play Hopewell sports including baseball and softball. My wife and I are both active in coaching our Children's teams. I am a member of the Hopewell Youth Baseball Board of Directors and you will probably see me out at the fields at least a few days a week. Most recently coaching my youngest sons TBALL team.
