Hopewell Football
Huge Opportunity This Weekend for Hopewell 8th Graders James Armstrong and Brody Rock
Followers of football in Hopewell and certain other communities are aware of the football talent that James Armstrong and Brody Rock possess, but tomorrow, that duo will have the opportunity to display that to a lot more people.
Those two Hopewell 8th graders have received an invitation to participate in one of the handful of Pitt football prospect camps on the South Side.
During the month of June, many college programs host these sorts of camps, which give players the opportunity to showcase their skills to many D-1 and D-2 coaches. This weekend, Armstrong and Rock, along with hundreds of other athletes from various parts of the country will work out not only in front of Pitt coaches but coaches from Akron, James Madison, Navy, Marshall, West Liberty, Ohio University, Eastern Michigan, Miami of Ohio, Northern Illinois, Duquesne, Brown, Bowling Green, Cornell, Toledo, Lehigh and many other schools.
This will be a tremendous opportunity for Armstrong and Rock to compete against other high skilled players to see how they match up. More importantly, college coaches will get their first chance to see them compete, which could leave to opportunities down the road.
College football recruiting is all about networking and this weekend, Armstrong and Rock will have their first real opportunity to open the eyes to of college coaches, which leads to college scholarships. Once the first one comes in, often times, it leads to a lot more.
Hopewell Sports Nation wants to wish these two the best of luck on Saturday!
