Hopewell Softball
Amazing Rebound for Varsity Softball taking it to Toledo!!!
After a split day yesterday taking one win and one loss the Hopewell Varsity Softball team came out prepared and revitalized in their game today vs the Toledo Christian Eagles. The final score was 16-0 after the mercy rule was put into effect.
All the action kicked off in the first with bats blazing for our Hopewell Vikings. This is the third game in a row where the Vikings nailed an inside the park home run today it came off the bat of Chloe Nale driving in two runs. And if one isn’t enough Jordyn Glumac stepped up right after Chloe slamming home another inside the park home run. Victoria Mann also added to the onslaught singling in an RBI.
Barkovich and Mann also scored in the second where Hopewell had a commanding 8-0 lead.
Hopewell wasn’t done there, in the top of the third they drove in another 8 runs! Parish got the inning started off with a triple driving in a run. Barkovich, Glumac, Compton, and Mann all contributed to a blow out offensive inning.
Mann lead the Vikes going 3 for 3, while also driving in three runs. Parish and Glumac also drove in three runs. It wasn’t all just hitting the Vikings had patience at the plate and worked the pitcher deep into the count drawing five walks and making Toledo earn every strike.
Mya Parish got the start for the Vikes and clearly had something to prove after a rough outing yesterday. Mya gave up one hit over three innings and Zero runs rebounding from the day prior and shutting out the Toledo team.
