Hopewell CP AJ’s Pack-N-Ship: Grit, Growth, and a Thrilling Walk-Off Victory

The Hopewell Coach Pitch squad representing AJ’s Pack-N-Ship has been putting in the work all season long — and it’s showing in every inning they play. These kids have consistently brought energy, effort, and heart to the field. Game after game, we’ve seen team-wide contributions, with nearly every player notching at least one hit, one run, and one RBI at various points in the season — a clear sign of both their development and dedication.

Their most recent matchup against AYB 8U Gill was a nail-biter that showcased exactly how far this team has come. Battling through a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair, Hopewell pulled off a thrilling 13-12 walk-off win, capped by a spectacular defensive play by Levi Magnone. With a sharp liner coming his way, Levi made the grab at third and had the baseball IQ to tag out the runner trying to retreat from second — sealing the win in dramatic fashion.

For Levi, the moment carried a little extra weight. Not only was this an elimination game in the tournament, but it was also a matchup against the team he played for last season — and even included a showdown against his cousin, Omari. Levi didn’t disappoint, delivering five hits and three RBIs, anchoring the top of the lineup with back-to-back offensive firepower alongside Coleson O.

Coleson was locked in from the start, going a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate. His bat set the tone early and kept Hopewell’s momentum alive inning after inning. The offensive fireworks didn’t stop there — Cameron Winiarski, Cullen Harkum, Thomas E, Emmett Metzger, and Colton Eiler all had multi-hit games, combining for an incredible 25 hits as a team. The middle of the lineup — Coleson, Levi, and Cameron — tallied 10 RBIs, delivering when it mattered most.

Despite giving up a few rallies to a strong AYB squad led by Omari G (4-for-4 with 3 RBIs), Hopewell stayed focused, disciplined, and determined. They built a five-run lead in the fifth and weathered a late push from AYB, proving just how much resilience and confidence they’ve gained this season.

Entered as the #5 Seed after a 1-1 showing in seeding games
Round 1: Defeated BF Bowser Chevy Farm 7-2
Round 2: Beat AYB 8U Gill 13-12 in a walk-off thriller

Now, all eyes turn to Wednesday night as AJ’s Pack-N-Ship prepares for a third and decisive showdown against Freedom 3 George. Hopewell dropped the first two meetings (17-3 and 6-1), but something feels different this time. The team is hungry. As one player put it:

“We want to beat the big dogs!”
