WATCH- HSN Walks Raccoon Field w/HYBB President!

Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year? School’s out, seniors have walked the stage, and the spring sports season is winding down. But the action is far from over—especially at Hopewell Youth Baseball.

Hopewell Sports Nation caught up with HYBB President Jon Lavia at the scenic Raccoon Township fields, where the league has been hard at work breathing new life into the diamonds. From fresh dugouts to upgraded field surfaces and netting, the transformation is well underway. Construction broke ground on a new field this week geared towards the younger ages 7-9u.

With a Pony League showdown between Team Hoffman and New Brighton happening right behind us, we sat down for an exclusive chat with Lavia to hear how the season is going, what exciting changes are coming, and what players and families can look forward to this fall.

Hello Hopewell! While I am not originally a Hopewell native, it has been my home for over 12 years. My wife and I have three beautiful children that all play Hopewell sports including baseball and softball. My wife and I are both active in coaching our Children's teams. I am a member of the Hopewell Youth Baseball Board of Directors and you will probably see me out at the fields at least a few days a week. Most recently coaching my youngest sons TBALL team.
