Hopewell Junior High Basketball
Recap of Hopewell Girls Junior High Basketball Game vs. South Fayette
The Hopewell Girls Junior High Basketball team took on South Fayette on Thursday afternoon.
As mentioned in their last game against Blackhawk, this is a big step up in terms of competition for the Lady Vikings. As a result, both the 7th and 8th grade teams ended up on the wrong end of the scoreboard.
The 7th grader girls gave it a battle and had a halftime lead of 16-14. In the 3rd quarter, Hopewell extended that lead to 21-16 but South Fayette went on a 13-0 run to take the lead and take control of the game.
The final score ended up being South Fayette 47 Hopewell 32.
Amiyah Shell led the way with 11 points, Arionna Shell 9 points, Elianna McCoy 8 points and a game-high 12 rebounds and Afton Budris 4 points.
The 8th grade team lost to South Fayette as well with Lily Enders leading the Vikings in scoring with 5 points, Ellie McCoy 2 points and Ava Ray 1 point.
After playing two consecutive games on the road, the Lady Vikings return home to host Moon on Monday.
