Hopewell Girls Volleyball Receives No. 3 Seed; To Host Playoff Match

Coming off a 14-2 regular season and a 2nd place finish in their section, the Hopewell Girls Volleyball team found out their bracket for the upcoming WPIAL Playoffs.

Today, the WPIAL released the volleyball brackets and Coach Terry Borkovic’s team received a No. 3 in a 22-team field.

The top two teams in Class 2A are No. 1 seed Quaker Valley and No. 2 seed Neshannock. Quaker Valley were Hopewell’s only two losses this season, as both matches went to four sets.

The exciting news for Hopewell is that they’ll be hosting their first-round playoff match, although their opponent is still unknown.

The Lady Vikings first match will take place this coming Wednesday, at Hopewell High School starting at 7 PM. They will be taking on the winner of match between No. 14 seed McGuffey and No. 19 seed Bentworth. That match will take place this Monday.

If Hopewell is able to get out of the first round, they would play the winner of No. 6 Waynesburg Central vs. No. 11 Avonworth/No. 22 Mohawk. That match would take place on Saturday, October 26th.

First things first and that’s getting past the first round!
