Playoff Scenario for the Hopewell Boys Soccer Team

It was a very good night for the Hopewell High School Boys soccer team in more than just way.

Aside from defeating Mohawk, 7-0, on Senior Night, they received some good news in a section game.

Avonworth went on the road and defeated Beaver, 4-1 and clinched their second consecutive section championship.

The result of that match was critical because Hopewell now controls their own playoff destiny.

If the Vikings are able to win their last two contests against Ellwood City and Keystone Oaks, they’ll earn the 4th playoff spot from Section 2. Avonworth, Quaker Valley and Central Valley have already locked up spots.

Hopewell will be heavy favorites this Saturday against Ellwood City so their playoff fate will likely come down to their match next Tuesday at Keystone Oaks.
