1st Place on the Line Tonight as Hopewell Girls Volleyball Takes on Quaker Valley

To describe tonight’s volleyball match tonight between Hopewell and Quaker Valley as huge would be an understatement.

The Lady Vikings will travel to Quaker Valley to take on the No. 1 seeded team in the conference with first place on the line.

With a win, Coach Borkovic’s squad would tie Quaker Valley for first place and have a chance at being c0-section champions.

That obviously won’t be easy as Quaker Valley has proven to be the premier team in Class AA this season. Earlier this year, the Quakers defeated Hopewell in 4 sets (25-19, 27-25, 23-25, 25-11).

In that first match, after dropping the first set, Hopewell had a chance to take the second set as they led 23-21 but were unable to close things out.

Since that early season showdown, Hopewell has been getting better all season and tonight should be a tremendous match against two quality programs.

After tonight, Hopewell has four remaining matches: tomorrow at New Brighton, Thursday at home vs. Freedom, next Tuesday vs. Aliquippa and next Thursday, the regular season finale against OLSH.
