12U Softball Wins over Ambridge!
It was a decisive win for the Hopewell 12U Softball Team as they won big over Ambridge 12u Gray Fall 13-6 on Wednesday.
Hopewell got on the board in the first inning after Meier Swana singled, scoring two runs, a dropped third strike scored one run, and Lily Beron grounded out, scoring one run. They added one run in the third. Lacey Snouffer was hit by a pitch, putting them up 5-1.
There were eight hits in the game as Hopewell was lead with Kaleah Potter bat getting two hits in two at bats. Meier Swana , Lily Beron, Kaleah Potter, and Lacey Snouffer each drove in two runs and Lily Beron had three walks. Ambridge struggled on the mound giving Hopewell plenty of base runners with a total of 15 walks in the game.
Hopewell took advantage of those base runners lead by Tayla Schwartzmiller, Meier Swana and Aubrey Majors whom each stole multiple bases as Hopewell put up 13 stolen bases in the game.
Hopewell also had opportunities on the mound giving up their fair share of walks as well but they also balanced that putting up 7 strikeouts. Ambridge collected 10 walks for the game.
The Vikings rolled in the fourth inning as they scored five runs on one hit, Lily Cane drew a walk, scoring one run, Meier Swana drew a walk, scoring one run, Lily Berone drew a walk, scoring one run, Angel Ostermeyer drew a walk, scoring one run, and Lacey Snouffer singled, scoring one run.
Ambridge 12u Gray Fall scored five runs on zero hits in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Gabby drew a walk, scoring one run, Norah P drew a walk, scoring one run, Crystal M drew a walk, scoring one run, Aniyah B drew a walk, scoring one run, and Aliviah drew a walk, scoring one run.
Aubrey Majors opened the game throwing two innings giving up one run on zero hits with two strikeouts. Tayla Schwartzmiller tossed one inning of shutout ball in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out two batters.
