The Vikings got themselves in a huge hole as they trailed after the first quarter, 13-0.

If you want to look for a positive, after that first quarter, Hopewell played much better and hung with Montour, only getting out scored, 27-22.

Hopewell’s leading scorer Zack Sampson scored 6 points in the second quarter, two of those baskets coming off his patented shot off the glass.

At the half, Hopewell trailed 25-8.

The Vikings came out strong in the second half and had a chance to get back in it as they dominated the glass but missed a lot baskets in the paint.

Twice in the 3rd quarter, Hopewell got within 12 points on baskets from Sampson. After three, Hopewell trailed 29-17.

Hopewell ran out of gas in the final quarter but a highlight was another 3-point shot from Jackson Yurcina, who’s really shot well the last two games.

Final Score: Montour 40 Hopewell 22

Next up for Hopewell is a home game on Monday against Central Valley.
