Hopewell Jr. High Basketball Blue Team South Fayette Recap
The longer bus rides, and the step up in competition have definitely proved to be worthy adversaries for the Hopewell Junior High Basketball Program.
This was asked for and it is for a purpose.
The kids are being asked to step up in class and compete against schools that they will not normally compete with in high school. Thinking that competing against higher classifications will serve them well as they enter a 4 A schedule as varsity athletes in the future.
Both the blue and the gold took losses on Wednesday. The blue team fought as hard as they could and Zach Sampson continues to impress with his development, but they fell short against a very fundamentally sound and deep South Fayette team.
After trading baskets in the first period, South Fayette distanced itself a little in the second quarter and again in the second half into a decisive win. All lessons are not on the scoreboard. The development of this group and the style of play is vastly improved over years past. Zach Sampson has emerged as a legitimate basketball prospect through these past few weeks. Tonight they got key help from Andrew Arzberger and Josh Gill. The team plays exceptionally hard each and every night and tonight was no exception. The summary and scoring is as follows.
