Hopewell 12U Navy Picks Up Solid Win Over Riverside 12U

Hopewell 12U Navy came away with a 13-5 win against Riverside 12U on Monday.

Hopewell got on the board early, scoring twice in the first inning with an RBI single from Madison Santamaria and a groundout from Sofia Cronin added another run in the second on a groundout.

The team extended its lead in the third when Tayla Schwartzmiller hit a bomb of a hit to center field and Aubrey Majors followed with a single, each bringing in a run.

Schwartzmiller did a phonemail job in the circle for Hopewell, pitching five innings, allowing five runs on nine hits while striking out seven and walking six.

At the plate, Majors went 2-for-3 to lead the team in hits. Schwartzmiller, Majors, and Ostermeyer, each had two RBIs. Hopewell showed patience at the plate, drawing 11 walks. Sofia Cronin, Tayla Schwartzmiller, Riley Meyers,  Lily Beron, and Angel Ostermeyer each walked twice.

On the bases, Madison Santamaria, Summer Shreve, Riley Meyers, Lily Beron,  and Angel Ostermeyer recorded multiple stolen bases, contributing to a total of 15 for the game.
