Hopewell Boys Varsity Volleyball Clinches Playoff!

Hopewell Boys Varsity brought home the win tonight vs. Montour. The win tonight helped Hopewell Clinch the start of their playoff run for this season. Hopewell is truly putting on a performance after the Girls Varsity team had a stellar run this past season we are now looking at the boys attempting to bring home the Championship.
The Vikings took the in in five sets:
Set 1: Montour 22-25
Set 2: Hopewell 25-22
Set 3: Montour 19-25
Set 4: Hopewell 25-22
Set 5: Hopewell 15-7
HSN caught up with Coach Rob Hall after the game who gave us insight into the win and the upcoming playoffs:
“It’s a great feeling (making the playoffs) especially this year they switched it so only the top 3 teams qualify for playoffs, in the past it was always top 4 like most sports. We also play in the toughest section top to bottom in 2A and with realignment we added the 2 time defending section champs from section 3 in South Fayette as well as Trinity a playoff regular. It’s a big accomplishment just to make the playoffs in our section.
All the credit goes to my boys they were resilient tonight, didn’t get rattled and came out on top.
I’d also like to shout out my assistant coaches Malcolm Meredith, Adam Barkman, Adam Speers and Jake Strinisa. I couldn’t ask for better assistants or role models for our boys.
The playoff brackets will be released Friday and start next week.”
The Vikings close out the regular season tomorrow at Home vs Trinity 4pm Varsity Only.
