Viking Pride Marching Band Banquet Celebrates a Year of Unity, Achievement, and New Beginnings

Viking Pride Marching Band Banquet Celebrates a Year of Unity, Achievement, and New Beginnings
March 29th the Viking Pride Marching Band gathered at the Fez for its annual Banquet. Against a backdrop of banners and instruments, students and families alike came together to honor a season marked by soaring cheers, heartfelt tears, and—above all—a profound sense of unity.
Honoring Our Graduating Seniors
As the band family reflected on another extraordinary year, special recognition was reserved for those who have been with us from the very first downbeat. To our graduating Seniors, we thank you for your tireless dedication, infectious enthusiasm, and the leadership you’ve provided both on the field and off. Your presence will be deeply missed, and we know you’re destined to bring that same Viking Spirit wherever you go.
Passing the Baton of Leadership
One of the evening’s most poignant moments came when Senior Drum Major Tanner Nelson officially passed the torch to the next generation of leaders. With whistle in hand and pride in his eyes, Tanner welcomed Ann Claire Fueller as the incoming Senior Drum Major, alongside Carter Weber, who steps into the role of Junior Drum Major. Our drum majors have been pillars of support throughout the season—guiding sectional rehearsals, mentoring younger members, and embodying the dedication that Tanner has exemplified. We can’t wait to see them lead our Vikings to new heights in the coming year.
Celebrating Outstanding Musicianship
Excellence in musicianship was also on full display as we honored three standout performers:
- Jenna Willey received the prestigious Band Award, recognized by her peers and directors for her unwavering commitment to musical growth, teamwork, and the positive energy she brings to every rehearsal.
- Hayley Gruber and Joey McCullough were both awarded the Victor Pasquarelli Scholarships, each earning this honor through exceptional musicianship, leadership, and service to the band community.
Congratulations to Jenna, Hayley, and Joey—you inspire us all with your artistry and dedication.
A Fond Farewell and a Warm Welcome
As the night drew to a close, the Band, the Vikettes, the Managers, and the Band Boosters joined together to express heartfelt gratitude to Director Christopher Keiper, who after several transformative years will be taking on a new challenge at the Junior High next year. Christopher’s enthusiasm and vision have shaped countless performances and fostered a culture of respect and excellence. We wish him every success in his new role.
Stepping onto the podium next season will be Samantha Lash, whose reputation for creativity and her passion for education made her the standout choice among a competitive field of candidates. We’re thrilled to welcome Samantha into the Viking family and look forward to the fresh perspectives and energy she will bring.
This banquet was more than a celebration—it was a testament to what makes the Viking Pride Marching Band so special: the bonds we forge, the music we create, and the leaders who rise to the occasion. Here’s to another year of unforgettable performances, lifelong friendships, and the enduring spirit of the Vikings. Onward to 2025–2026!
