HV’s Youth Baseball Winter Indoor Practice – Begins!

Published

on

The snow might be building up in this very cold January here in Pittsburgh but that won’t stop Hopewell Youth Baseball. What seemed like all of Hopewell Youth Baseball filled the small indoor practice facility in Coraopolis last night to begin Spring training skills practice. The “parents room” was packed with families eager to get the training started!

These kids were ready!  I have never seen so many Hopewell Youth baseball players packed into an off season practice, a testament to the current leadership and coaches here in Hopewell that continue to put in the volunteer time for our kids and our community. That’s what it’s about at this age, building the basic skills necessary to compete later if they choose and just have FUN playing the game!

All of this was made possible thanks in large part to new HYBBA Grand Slam Sponsor Liberatore Baseball Club, owned and operated by Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame Inductee Adam Liberatore. Visit the Liberator baseball site if you’re looking for a good indoor facility for your team!

There is no shortage of mentions when a team wins a Championship Ring or Trophy, however that shinning moment took hundreds if not thousands of hours of hard work to achieve. Championships are forged in the quiet hours when athletes work on their own skills, fundamentals and fitness, not in the grand slam moment.

Thanks to our sponsors!

“We don’t take the off-season off. We use that time to improve, to stay in shape, to get better for the next season.” — Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates

Let’s hope our Buccos are putting in the amazing effort I saw last night from these Hopewell athletes:).

Hello Hopewell! While I am not originally a Hopewell native, it has been my home for over 12 years. My wife and I have three beautiful children that all play Hopewell sports including baseball and softball. My wife and I are both active in coaching our Children's teams. I am a member of the Hopewell Youth Baseball Board of Directors and you will probably see me out at the fields at least a few days a week. Most recently coaching my youngest sons TBALL team.
