Six Hopewell Girls Volleyball Players Named to WPIAL All-Section Team
When you have the success that the Hopewell High School Girls Volleyball team had this season by going 14-2 and finishing in 2nd place in their section, individual awards and acknowledgment is sure to follow.
Some players on Hopewell’s team are finding that out!
The 2024 Class 2A Section 1 All-Star were announced and six players on the Hopewell Vikings team were recognized.
Congratulations to the following players for receiving this outstanding honor following a tremendous regular season.
FIRST TEAM: Bella Ceccarelli, Jordan Sirianni and Alyssa Spang.
SECOND TEAM: Mena Catanzarite and Briana Inderelst.
THIRD TEAM: Reese Murray.
Hopewell Sports Nation reached out to Hopewell Head Volleyball Coach Terry Borkovic to get his quick thoughts on these six outstanding players.
Reese Murray: Reese is a captain this season. Her leadership skills are exceptional. Reese’s main contribution is her blocking. She is outstanding. Reese chips in with 5/6 kills a match.
Philomena Catanzarite: “Mena” is our Libero. Mena’s serve receive and digging skills are excellent. She is one of the main reasons we are seeded high for the playoffs.
Brianna Inderelst: Brianna has a solid performance each match. Brianna leads the team in serving percentage. Brianna is a very high energy player.
Bella Ceccarelli: As the setter, Bella is responsible for putting up a good second ball for the hitters. She is exceptional in her role.
Alyssa Spang: Alyssa is an outstanding athlete. She leads the team in blocks and hitting efficiency. I believe that Alyssa is one of the best middle blockers in the WPIAL AA classification.
Jordan Siriani: Jordan is highly skilled in every area of the game. Jordan serves and receives serve very well. She is a very intelligent and reliable hitter. A gritty player, Jordan has been playing through injuries all season. Jordan works hard each day in practice to improve both herself and her team.
