Plenty of drama tonight in the Hopewell All-Star Tournament at the Kane Road Fields.

The Hopewell 12-year-olds took on Quaker Valley and trailed for a majority of the game.

Because of a time limit, only 5 innings were going to be played in this game and Quaker Valley was one out from a victory. However, the Vikings never quit and in the end pulled victory from the jaws of defeat, winning 13-9.

The trio of Ryder Kostrick, Connor Reed and Tyler Hoffman came up clutch tonight going 8-for-10 with 6 runs scored and 7 RBI.

Hopewell entered the bottom of the 5th inning trailing 9-7 and knew it would be the last inning of the game.

Hoffman led off the inning with a walk, which was followed by another walk to David Johnson. However, Quaker Valley turned a double play, which meant Hopewell was down to their final out, still needing to score two runs to tie.

With Hoffman at 3rd base, Vin Smetana was hit by a pitch. Then with the bases loaded, Kostrick ripped the first pitch of the at-bat for a double, scoring Hoffman and Smetana.
