Hopewell 7-Year-Old All-Stars Bounce Back With 16-12 Win Over Moon

After dropping a 4-3 decision this morning to Ambridge in a high-competitive game, The Hopewell 7-year-old All-Stars bounced back in a big way.

The Vikings took on the Moon Tigers and came away with a 16-12 win.

Obviously after banging out 30 hits and scoring 16 runs, Coach Nick Holsinger’s team had a ton of kids making contributions.

Some of the top highlights from today:
-August Arostegui- 3 hits, 4 RBI (2-run single in the 2nd, RBI single in the 4th and RBI single in the 5th).

-After Moon scored 5 runs in the second Hopewell responded and retook the lead, 6-5, on a single by Colton Eiler.

-After Moon tied the game back up at 6, the Vikings got RBI singles by Arostegui, Brody Tournay and Declan Rinaldi.

-Hopewell then scored 5 runs on 7 hits in top of the 5th inning. Trent Michael, Max Holsinger RBI ground out, Arostegui RBI single, Kellen Haring RBI ground out and Tournay RBI single.

-Hopewell’s 30 Hits: Colton Eiler, Brody Tournay and Grayden McNally 4 hits.
Declan Rinaldi, Harper Lavia, Hudson Lavia, Max Holsinger, Mason Thumm, Trent Michael and Obie DeCanio each had multiple hits.

-Aside from the offense, Hopewell played really strong defense as they didn’t commit a single error in the field and even turned a double play. Mason Thumm had the most chances in the field with six.

Hopewell finishes the Pool Play with a record of 1-1 and will find out later tonight what seed they end up in tomorrow’s bracket play.

SUNDAY 7-YEAR BRACKET PLAY:
10 AM:  No. 2 seed vs. No. 3 seed

Noon: No. 1 seed vs. No. 4 seed

Championship Game: 2 PM
