Hopewell 11-Year Old All-Stars Earn No. 1 Seed After 11-1 Win Over Scott Twp.
HOPEWELL TWP- The Hopewell 11-year olds certainly looked the part of All-Stars over the last two days as they outscored Beaver and Scott Twp by a combined score of 21-1.
Tonight, the Vikings held Scott Township to 2 hits and defeated Scott Township, 11-1. With the win, Hopewell has earned the No. 1 seed, which earns them a bye into tomorrow’s semifinals.
On the mound tonight for Hopewell, Henry Davis started and went 2 innings, allowing 1 hit, 1 run and struck out 3. Rhett Rankin pitched the 3rd and 4th innings and struck out all six batters he faced. Wes Gigliotti finished things up by pitching the 5th inning and struck out one.
Offensively, Kruz Krotec belted two doubles and drove in 3 runs. Wade Enders was 2 for 3, with 2 runs and 1 RBI.
Other Vikings standouts included: Henry Davis 1 for 2 with a walk and an RBI. Elliott Mancos was 1-2 with a walk and a run, Rhett Rankin was 1-2 with 2 runs, a walk and an RBI, Wes Gigliotti scored 2 runs, 2 walks and an RBI.
