Hopewell Youth Baseball Honors the memory of Sean Croner
Sean Croner was a part of many families here in Hopewell as the lives he touched transcended through multiple sports that he was passionate about coaching.
The Hopewell Youth Baseball League hosted a ceremony this past weekend to honor their coach, friend and brothers memory by releasing balloons and unveiling the new Sean “Croners Batting Cages” at the Kane Road Complex. They were joined by friends and family of Sean to dedicate the new batting cages and celebrate the life of Sean and all that he accomplished.
President of HYBB David Gigliotti has lead the initiative in the batting cage renovations since the ideas inception and HSN sat down with him to hear his thoughts on Sean, “Sean was special to many of the people in this league and in this community. He played HS ball here and was part of a WPIAL Championship team. He coached youth baseball and football. Sean was a person who wanted to help Hopewell sports build a strong foundation. There is a Sean Croner memorial golf outing for 3 years going now. That outing raised money that they donated to the youth baseball league to help us with the remodel of our batting cages. We treated the generous donation as a 50/50 opportunity to complete that special project including a renaming of “Croner Cages” in honor of Sean. I knew Sean personally, and I am so happy to see this dedication for him and for his family.”
When you’re at the field take a moment to stop at the memorial and remember our dear friend, coach and brother.
