Around Hopewell
If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball!!!
Teachers and students went head to head today in a dodgeball battle for their friend and student currently battling cancer. Whether playing or spectating donations were accepted to benefit a 10th grade student at Hopewell High School. The student has been in the Hopewell School System since Elementary School and was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. They’re currently on treatment and is scheduled to have surgery in December at Children’s Hospital.
As students and teachers battled it out for their friend, there was no shortage of action. Like the great Patches O’Houlihan told us, “Remember the 5 D’s of dodgeball: Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge”, and we saw just that today during 3rd and 4th period at the High School.
Youth prevailed in the final matchup, with a student team taking home the top spot, but everyone played their hearts out in this fun filled event and raised over $1600 for their friend and student at Hopewell High School.
